Can Bertran

Can Bertran is located at Fornells de la Muntanya, neighbourhood of 26 people, at 1289 metres (over 4200 feet) of altitude, that belongs to the municipality of Toses.

It is a farmhouse compounded by two building blocks, house and old barn, with a courtyard. It has a 270 m2 surface and capacity for 12-14 people.

It is included in several publications as an example of popular architecture. It has been reinstated in 2012 conserving its tradicional image, the main frontage being battered and the barn with stone, keeping a big opening to the grass drying. The courtyard now is a leisure area, perfect for sunbathing while grilling meat in the barbecue. It has tables, chairs and umbrellas. In the back there are clothes racks and playground.

The house has three floors. In the ground floor there is a kitchen with a little dining-room with TV and a little toilet with a washer. The kitchen includes all the necessary utensils and is equipped with a fridge-freezer, washing-machine, hob and micro-wave.

At the first floor you will find thre rooms, two with individual beds and one with double-bed. Equipped with a wardrobe and high-quality mattress. It has a complete bathroom.

The secound floor, just under the roof, includes three rooms, two with individual beds and one with double-bed. All fully-equipped as the former ones and also with two bathrooms.

The barn includes the dining-room in the ground floor, with a table for 12 people. It also includes the kitchen and the courtyard. In the first floor, there is a living-room with three sofas and with sunlight provided by a large aperture. It is equipped with a fireplace and flat screen TV.

It is used a heating system and hot water provided by renewables. The production is made by a totally silent biomass boiler.

The Valley of Rigart will enable you to enjoy a typical Pyryneeal landscape with walking or mountain-biking routes. During the winter, its closeness to the ski-resorts makes it for a perfect place, close but not inside the resorts.

The restaurant of Can Casanovas, with a long tradition, is located in the same neighbourhood and provides an essencial service if you prefer not to cook during the weekend.

The cultural routes of the neighbourhoods of the municipality will allow you to discover the romanic art more unknown, but documented at Museum of Vic.

We can arrange guided tours from Sant Martí de Fornells to Sant Víctor de Dòrria (with the recent discovery of its mural paintings), continuing to St. Cristòfol de Toses and then to Nevà, with the Godmother and Sant Cristòfol.
