El Serrat

El Serrat is one kilometre from Planoles and six kilometres from Ribes de Freser on the main road from Collada de Toses. It as an old mountain farmhouse which has been renovated maintaining the same traditional style as the other buildings nearby. The L shaped house is south-facing, so it is sunny all day.

It is set amid meadows and surrounded by hundred-year-old ash trees which border and shelter the property. The unforgettable setting in one of the sunniest spots in the Ribes valley is a peaceful place with spectacular views of the Taga Mountain and the valley.

The old farmhouse has been renovated so as to maintain a balance between modernity and tradition. It has seven separate places to stay, each different, but all fully equipped with modern household comforts while maintaining total respect for the environment.

All the houses have a small, private, outdoor space with wooden garden furniture. There is a communal utility room with washing machines and there is a barbecue area next to the house. Planoles has a grocery shop and a bakery; there is a wider selection of shops and a health centre in Ribes de Freser. The local hospital is in Campdevánol, 10 kms from Ribes de Freser.

There is an extensive selection of mountain activities available in the valley: itineraries for mountain bikes, hiking, skiing in La Molina, la Masela and Núria, a swimming pool and tennis courts in the village of Planoles, pony trekking in Nevà, Pardines and Campdevànol. You can enjoy the local cuisine in all the villages and towns in the area. The Romanic route in the valley is of special interest, taking in Dòrria (painting), Toses, Queralbs, Fustanyà, Puigsac y Planès. The leafy natural surroundings of Serrat provide the opportunity for all sorts of recreational and adventure activities.
